Don and his family joined the work of the Edgewood congregation in October 2010 when he became our gospel preacher.  Previous to coming to Edgewood brother Gelles served congregations in Texas, Colorado and Louisiana.  He is in his 19th year of preaching and has conducted gospel meetings, preached on lectureships, taught Bible classes to the community, served as a prison chaplain with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and has defended the pattern of sound doctrine in numerous debates and articles.

Don was born in Washington DC and grew up in a military family that spent time in Maryland, and Texas.  He graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in San Antonio, Texas and shortly thereafter was introduced to the Church of Christ.  He was added to the Lord's Church when he obeyed the gospel plan of salvation in 1987 in San Antonio, Texas.  Brother Gelles recieved his education from several sound brotherhood schools.

Don and his wife Alicia met and were married in Austin, Texas in 1995 and have three children:  Baily, Bryce & Josh.  Brother Gelles has had the pleasure of baptizing his wife, daughter Baily and son Bryce.  The Gelles family are baseball fans and support the Cleveland Indians.  They enjoy attending baseball games and Don has coached little league baseball since 2008.      Please take a few minutes to visit my personal web page, just click the link below.
